Our goal is to provide every camper with a safe, healthy, and meaningful summer experience, one that helps campers build lasting friendships, deepen their connection to Jewish life, and develop long-standing relationships with the Camp Ramah in the Poconos community.

Each year, tuition increases are necessary to help us maintain the quality of our program and keep pace with the rising costs of operating camp. The true cost of providing the experience of Camp Ramah in the Poconos is greater than the revenue generated by tuition dollars alone. We are fortunate to be supported by a generous philanthropic community, including current families, alumni, foundations, and individual donors who are deeply committed to sustaining camp and helping bridge that gap. Philanthropic support through our annual Chai campaign, grants from our partners, and proceeds from our endowment allow us to keep the tuition as low as possible while continuing to provide the high-quality camp experience our families expect and our campers deserve.

We also recognize that camp tuition represents a significant financial investment for families. Financial aid is available for families who need support. Additional information regarding the financial aid process and other resources available to families can be found at the bottom of this page.

Application Information

Campers should apply based on their current school grade (their grade during the 2026-2027 school year).

Session Eligibility (based on 2026–2027 School Year):

  • Gan & Cochavim: Only for staff members at camp.
  • 2nd Grade: Eligible for our Taste of Ramah one-week program (July 25–August 1).
  • 3rd Grade: May attend either the four-week First Session (June 21 – July 18), OR the one-week Taste of Ramah program (July 25 - August 1).
  • 4th–7th Grade: Eligible to attend either one session or the full summer.
  • 8th Grade and Up: Must attend the full summer.
  • Tikvah Programs: Our Tikvah programs are designed for campers with special needs. For more information and to make sure this is the correct program for your child, please contact our Tikvah Program Director, Orlee Krass.

Payment and Refund Policies

The following is a summary of key payment and refund policies. For our full Camp Ramah in the Poconos payment and refund policies, please visit Payment & Refund Policies. The full policy governs in the event of any conflict or question.

  • A $500 non-refundable, non-transferable deposit is required once your camper's spot is confirmed. For Taste of Ramah, the deposit is $250.
  • Tuition is generally paid in eight monthly installments (October–May) using the payment method on file, with full payment due by the first Monday of May.
  • Campers with unpaid balances after that date may not attend camp and bunking or other logistics information will not be released.
  • Families with outstanding balances from prior years must satisfy those balances before enrolling.
  • Payments may be made by eCheck (no fee) or credit/debit card (3% processing fee for credit cards, no fee for debit cards).
  • Returned payments and payments more than 30 days overdue are subject to a $50 fee.
  • Withdrawal requests must be submitted in writing (by email).
  • The deposit is never refundable. Tuition paid (excluding the non-refundable deposit) may be refundable before April 1, less any applicable cancellation fee:
    • Through November 30: No cancellation fee
    • December 1–31: $500
    • January 1–February 28: $1,000
    • March 1–31: $2,000
  • No tuition refunds are available after April 1, except in limited circumstances described in the full Payment & Refund Policies, such as certain documented medical emergencies or administrative decisions.
  • There are no prorated refunds for planned late arrivals or early departures.
  • Campers dismissed for serious behavioral or safety violations, or whose families provide incomplete or inaccurate medical or behavioral information, are not eligible for a refund. The following are examples and are not an exhaustive list of conduct that may result in dismissal: possession or use of alcohol, illegal drugs, tobacco, marijuana, vaping products, or weapons, leaving camp without authorization, intentionally harming others, or repeated behavioral concerns that prevent participation in the camp program.
  • Taste of Ramah: A $250 non-refundable deposit is required. Tuition (less the deposit) is refundable only for withdrawals received by April 1. No refunds are available after April 1.
  • Taste of Tikvah: A $500 non-refundable deposit is required. Tuition (less the deposit) is refundable only for withdrawals received by April 1. No refunds are available after April 1.
First Time Camper Incentives

One Happy Camper – Our partners at the Foundation for Jewish Camp are proud to offer the One Happy Camper Incentive Grant for first-time overnight campers. Incentives are typically for $1,000 off tuition for your first summer at Camp Ramah, but the exact amount depends on your local Jewish community partner agencies. Scholarships and Financial Aid

Camp Ramah in the Poconos is committed to making camp accessible to as many families as possible. Each year, a limited amount of financial assistance is available for families who need support with camp tuition. The 2027 financial aid application will open in November 2026, and enrolled families will receive an email notification about the process.

Please note: Families must have an ENROLLED camper in order to apply for a camp-based scholarship on the FACTS website. Scholarship applications are reviewed only after enrollment is complete.

Financial assistance is awarded on a year-to-year basis and is not guaranteed from one year to the next. Awards are based on demonstrated financial need and the funds available for that season. Amounts may also vary from year to year.

In addition to camp-based scholarships, families are encouraged to explore outside funding opportunities, including synagogue scholarships, Jewish Federation support, and other community resources. Eligible first-time overnight campers may also qualify for national incentive programs, such as One Happy Camper.
